Graphic Design (Coursework) / Graphic Design / Manipulation of Type : Initals
MANIPULATION OF TYPE: INITIALS
Course: Graphic Design
Date: 3/2/21
Size: 10 x 10 in.
Medium: Adobe Photoshop
About: I enjoy analyzing different classifications of type because of their potential to be broken down into distinct individual pieces. Through this process on my initial letterforms 'C' and 'M,' I reinterpreted serif and display type into thumbnail sketches representing my own visual vocabulary. My final Photoshop design relies on subverting whitespace, contrasting line weight and style, and the thoughtful omitting of detail to simplify my initials into a form inspired by a crescent moon rising behind dark mountain tops.
